This is going to be a pretty random post, but I thought I’d go with it anyway. As I was shopping yesterday the most bizarre thought occurred to me as I was looking at shampoo – I have a LOT of coconut fragranced items. I have in fact gone, coconut crazy.
Everyone has a favourite smell don’t they? And if someone was to ask me “if you could only smell one thing for the rest of your life what would it be?” (I know that’s a weird question, but you know, weird blog post), then coconut would be my answer. The smell of coconut just invokes visions of beautiful beaches in paradise and glorious summer sunshine. It makes me happy.
So whenever I go shopping for something fragrance related I will inevitably look for something coconut-ty. But until this weekend, I didn’t quite realise how much stuff I had that was coconut. So I’m sharing it with you, for no reason other than why not?!
Starting with bodywash and shower gel, here’s what I currently have:
The Body Shop Pinita Colada body wash (obviously this is not solely coconut, there’s a bit of pineapple thrown in, but you know, for the purposes of this post it fit the criteria!), The Body Shop Coconut body wash, Victorias Secret Coconut Milk Ultra Rich Cream Wash (a complete favourite of mine, it’s beautiful!) and Imperial Leather Coconut and Tiare flower shower gel. How I don’t permanently smell of coconut myself is a mystery.
I love using coconut fragranced shampoo and conditioner but usually only when I’m on holiday. So I’ve currently got these packed ready and ready to go:
At home I tend to use a shampoo and conditioner that adds volume because my hair is really thin and fly-away, and I’m currently using Herbal Essences White Grapefruit and Mosa Mint shampoo and conditioner. This also smells completely devine and is proving great for my hair! But every now and then I like to use a coconut shampoo and conditioner at home as well just to add a bit of hydration back.
And then I also use Lee Staffords CoCoLoCo hair protection mist:
Fab for protecting hair against regular use of heated appliances such as hairdryers and straighteners.
And my love of coconut fragrances doesn’t just rest at beauty products. No no, my house and my car both get treated to coconut smelling delights. I currently have a Yankee Candle Black Coconut air freshener in the car and I’ve just invested in two Yankee Candle plug in air fresheners for the house, and I bet you’ll never guess what fragrance is in them?? Yes, Black Coconut! Who knew?!?! Funnily enough I used to use a different plug in air freshener with a white vanilla fragrance which was really lovely, but the Yankee Candle one won me over and now my house smells like holidays!
Over the next few weeks I’ll be adding to my coconut collection by getting The Body Shop Coconut hand cream and soap and probably some body mist or anything else they might sell. Plus I’ve no doubt be purchasing some more Yankee Candle candles in whatever coconut fragrances they happen to offer.
Perhaps I should start cooking with coconut as well?!?!? Apparently it’s good for you……
And so my love of coconut continues and will do forever! I’m sure you’ll have your own favourite fragrances that you use regularly, but if you’re looking for a new favourite, may I put a punt in for coconut?! Lol.
Thanks for reading this truly bizarre post on a Sunday evening. I’ll get back to the more serious and normal stuff during the week! Hope you’ve all had a lovely weekend.
Much coconut love! x
