Home is where the heart is, but……

….travelling is also an absolute dream!

I’m definitely a home bird. I love all the comforts of home, having my own space, my own bed and just being surrounded by all the familiar things that make home home.

But that’s not to say I don’t like going away and seeing awesome places. That’s one of the things that I treasure the most – the ability and opportunity to travel to amazing places all over the world and do the sorts of things that I like to do.

So far this year I’ve been lucky enough to have visited loads of different places, both within the UK and in Europe and beyond. In fact in the past 3 months alone I’ve been to Prague, Manchester, Cornwall, London, New York, Kent and South Wales. And I’ve loved every single second of all of those visits, because that’s what I live for and what I enjoy the most!

The last time I went away was in fact only a couple of weeks ago and it was a trip to Kent for a friends wedding and I was away for two nights. The following two weekends were the first time I’d had nothing planned at a weekend since some time in March and actually, it was really nice to just have some chill time. I mean don’t get me wrong, I actually love being busy and I love having things to do. But the odd weekend here or there to rest is also something you need to do and I have appreciated the down time over the past two weekends.

And although I’ve only had a couple of weekends of having nothing specific to do, I’ve found myself itching to start planning things again and having things to look forward to. That’s because between now and the end of August I’ve actually only got one thing planned. And from the end of August onwards, I get really busy again, with a trip to Prague, a holiday to Cyprus another holiday (which I can’t say where to at the moment just in case my mum reads this as it’s a surprise for her!) and then another trip to Manchester. By the time that’s all done it’ll be November and nearly the end of the year, oh my goodness!

And perhaps that’s why I’m getting itchy feet at the moment – I’ve been really busy seeing and doing loads of great things, and I’ve got loads of amazing things coming up soon. But I’ve just got a few weeks in between with not very much planned.

But I think rather than be a bit frustrated by not having much on for a few weeks, I should just take advantage of having some time in my beautiful home and being surrounded by all things familiar. Because there really is no place like home. Not me anyway.

And of course having very little planned has other advantages, such as being able to save a little bit of money. So it’s not all bad!

As we approach the end of the year, it’ll be time to start planning things for 2018 and getting ideas together for things to do, places to go and things to see and experience. Because for me, that’s what life is all about – experiencing as much as you can and making as many memories as possible.

Much love!

p.s last weeks outfits are up in the photo gallery if you fancy taking a quick peek! As usual, nothing exciting, just more simple outfits for a simple girl in a not so simple world!
